Removal of urine , both human and pet is one of the most difficult problems faced by carpet cleaners.
If the urine is not treated quickly then a yellow stain may be left which will almost certainly be impossible to remove.
Urine is generally acidic so that alkaline cleaners, which most carpet cleaning solutions are , will remove it.
However with time it oxidises and become alkaline making it much more difficult to break down.
We have a range of chemicals to treat both the urine and the smell but fast action is always the best option if urine is spilled onto carpets.
It is sometimes possible to lighten the yellow staining with bleaches which do not remove the back ground colour although this is complex and best left to a professional carpet cleaner.
